Specialized
Solutions, Inc., is celebrating its fifth year of providing
our customers with quality training materials and cost effective
solutions for the certification requirements of computer professionals.
Our products include software, books, network, and professional
certification programs. In our five short years, we have experienced
phenomenal growth, evolving from a one-room office to an 8,000
square foot building complete with a fully functioning digital
production studio. Much of our success can be attributed to our
employee's dedication and principles to foster high levels of
professional competence and business ethics personally and throughout
the computer industry.
Specialized
Solutions, Inc. is now a solely woman owned and operated business.
Carrie Cameron founded Specialized Solutions. Carrie serves as
President and oversees operations, Customized
Curriculum and new product development. Carrie has a background
in computer science and more than ten years of technical sales
and marketing experience.
Our staff
is comprised of computer and educational professionals. Our goal
is to provide quality, easy to use technical training materials
written and produced in highly comprehensible formats. The customer's
needs are of paramount concern in the writing and design of our
training aids and materials.
We call our
method of delivery the "Learn As You Earn" program.
We have addressed the fact that most IT professionals cannot afford
the time or money required to complete classroom instructed training
programs. In addition to providing cost effective solutions to
large corporations, this also addresses the needs of a large segment
of the evolving computer industry that consists of small (less
than twenty employees) companies. These companies often do not
have the resources necessary to send their technical people to
formal training facilities for courses that can last from three
to five days to four to six weeks.
One of our
most popular certification programs is the "CompTIA A+
Boot Camp". This program includes videotapes, workbooks,
computer-based training and skill assessment software designed
to prepare student s for the CompTIA A+ Certification test. While intended
for use as self-paced training for the individual, it has gained
acceptance as curriculum in many instructor-led programs. In response
to not only a growing Spanish speaking population within this
country, but also to emerging Caribbean Basin and South American
countries, Specialized Solutions has added a Spanish version of
this popular program.
In the spring
of 1998, Specialized Solutions, Inc followed the "CompTIA A+ Boot
Camp", with the introduction of the "CompTIA CDIA+"
(Certified Document Imaging Architech) Training and Test
Preparation" package. This package is structured to meet
CompTIA's certification requirements for this nationally recognized
credential in the document imaging industry. It includes a textbook,
a set of five training videos and a practice exam simulator on
CD-ROM. This package is designed to provide the student with all
the tools and support needed to successfully complete the CompTIA CDIA+
certification.
Last year,
CompTIA introduced "CompTIA Network+
Certification". In response, Specialized Solutions
is introducing its "CompTIA Network+ Training and Test Preparation"
package. Just like the "CompTIA A+ Boot Camp", this training
package includes videotapes, workbooks, computer-based training
and skill assessment software.
In early 2001
we developed our CompTIA i-Net+ Training
course to meet the growing need for techies wanting to get certified
in CompTIA's latest offering. The CompTIA i-Net+ covers all the basics
leading to "Webmaster" certification. This training
package consists of 8 CD-ROMs or 5 Videotapes, a e-Book Study Guide,
and a Practice exam simulator on CD-ROM. This course is like the
"CompTIA A+" course for the internet. If you are thinking about
getting into the IT field the three courses that will start you
out with a great understanding of the different areas are: CompTIA A+,
CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA i-Net+. You'll have a better idea what area of IT
you'd like to specialize in, and will be well prepared to start
your new career direction!
In addition
to the CompTIA certifications, Specialized Solutions also offers
a number of computer application and network certification packages.
They include: Microsoft Certification - MCSE, Exchange Server,
Internet Information Server, Networking Essentials, NT Server
and Workstation certifications, TCP/IP as well as Microsoft Office
2000 application training materials; Unix, Novell Training &
Certification including Novell CNA and CNE and CISCO Training
and Certification.
We also have
the capability of developing "Customized
Curriculum" to meet specific customer needs. Existing
curriculum can be developed into multimedia and web-based training.
A program can also be created based upon specific customer objectives
and goals. Our staff will work with the customer to assess their
specific needs and will then develop a program to help them achieve
their objectives. Some of the services that they offer include:
digital video production (scripting, design, production and editing);
video to CD-ROM conversion; self-study curriculum development,
computer based training (CBT) development; practice exam development
including the new CAT designs; online training and full web development.
A day rarely
goes by that there is not an announcement of a new advancement
in computer technology or of a revolutionary new software or web
application. Today's computer technicians are hard-pressed to
stay current within this fast evolving environment. Specialized
Solutions, Inc. has met the challenge of providing training resources
and will continue to do so into the next millennium.
